Thanks again to you both from myself and Chris for a really enjoyable days birding. Chris & I spent a couple of hours at the Mirador overlooking the castle on Sunday morning and had some great views of Golden Oriole,I counted four male birds , we also had a small flock of Bee-eaters and a Bonelli's eagle so a morning well spent. I hope to hear from you soon maybe you could e-mail some of the photo's .

Subject Last Sunday (07/06/09)

Thanks for a good trip - we saw some species for the first time and got very good views of others to confirm identifications. Saw hoopoe on a electrical wire not 5m from the roadside about 2km out of Lanjaron on the way back to Orgiva!

Subject Wetlands Padul Trip

Hello Steve and Ian

We just wanted to thank you both for a really enjoyable and fascinating visit to the Padul wetlands during our recent holiday in Spain. Your knowledge and enthusiasm made it all the more interesting and we would definitely have passed by so much wildlife, including terrapins, had we not been in your company. It is indelibly imprinted on our memories that the sound of a Corn Bunting is that of jangling keys and breaking glass! We wish you much success and look forward to walking with you again.

Many thanks and look forward to more trips with you.
Oh and I saw a Golden Oriole on Sunday at long last after hearing them since the begining of May! Fantastic stuff. Roll on the bee eaters.

Subject Our webcam caught this bird!

Our webcam above Lanjaron spotted this bird flying past today. Lucky I saw the cam and managed to save a copy. Big bird, no idea what it is. Can you help?

The Golden Orioles have returned, I heard it for the first time 2 days ago, but today I have not heard it. Maybe they have moved on already?
